Hola, I am Miriam Dorantes. I am honored to be part of an organization striving to sustain community by navigating the world through mutual aid. To me, that means that we are not depending on a governmental system to keep us alive, keep us safe, or keep us from growing. AMA builds community, connects others, and organizes to empower the larger community to make change.

My experience are both personal and professional.

Personally, I've experience the lack of many things due to who my family was, what we had or didn't have. If it wasn't for the support of others, I truly do not know where I would be today. I am so grateful.

Professionally, I am a lifelong student, educator, and organizer. I gravitate towards spaces that want to make change. That kind of change that wants to be in community and not against it. I have been an educator in a school and in the non-profit sector, I've worked in the service industry for 15 years, worked in fundraising, been an official organizer for workers, worked at the city level for a council member, and finally started to follow my dream of sharing my spiritual practices with others.
