If you or someone you know needs a warm place to sleep tonight, the City of Austin's Cold Weather Shelter is open. Here is how to get there and what to expect when you arrive.

What to know

  • Call 512-972-5055 for shelter information and access

  • Register at One Texas Center (OTC), 505 Barton Springs Road, between 6 PM and 8 PM

  • Bus routes serving OTC: 1, 7, 10, 20, 30, 105, 801

  • If buses stop running, call 311 and request a ride to the shelter — transportation will be arranged

  • More information at AustinTexas.gov/Alerts

Details

Head to One Texas Center at 505 Barton Springs Road and register between 6 PM and 8 PM. Several CapMetro bus routes stop nearby. If you cannot afford the fare or buses have stopped running, call 311 — they will arrange a ride to get you to the shelter.
